I. What is the Cell Cycle?The cell cycle is a process that cells go through to grow and divide. The following are the steps of the cell cycle: a cell grows, prepares for division, and divides to form two daughter cells, each of which then begins the cycle again.

II. What is Mitosis?The first stage, the division of the cell nucleus, is called mitosis. Mitosis is divided into four phases: prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. Mitosis results in two daughter cells each having the same number and kind of chromosomes.
